Caring for Dementia Patients on a Whole New Level

If your loved one is suffering from the late stages of Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia, you are far from alone.

That’s where we come in. Our hospice care for late-stage dementia patients and patients with other late-stage diagnoses accompanied by dementia is anything but standard. Unlike other hospice providers, we don’t treat dementia patients the same way we treat other hospice patients. Instead, we provide specialized clinicians who truly understand the unique symptoms, struggles, and challenges that dementia patients and their families face.

Better Care Starts Here

We start with trained clinicians. Our nurses come to you with dementia and Alzheimer’s training, guaranteeing that your clinician will understand the disease and how to best manage the symptoms that come with dementia. We also consult with our national network of medical directors, who are knowledgeable in both dementia and hospice care.

Sundowning Syndrome

Many dementia and Alzheimer’s patients have a tendency to get frustrated and aggravated later in the day. We recognize this fact and can schedule our visits later in the day to help calm patients and make your life easier. We also have dementia-trained Social Workers in case there’s an increase in these symptoms.

Fall Safety Assessments Once a Week

Many dementia patients have problems with falling. That’s why we assess patient safety every week. We may also provide a Physical Therapist to help with caregiver training related to moving from bed to bathroom. In addition, our therapists are available for special needs concerning patient safety.

Hospice Professionals On A Mission To Serve Veterans

Emerald Coast Hospice is a proud participant in the We Honor Veterans Program.

America’s veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission to serve our country, and we believe it is never too late to give them a hero’s welcome home. That’s why our hospice is taking part in the We Honor Veterans program. Our staff understands the unique needs of veterans and is prepared to meet the specific challenges that veterans and their families may face at the end of life.
